Our Sand Springs, OK Dentist Helps Patients Get Their Best Smiles Possible
I chose to get into dentistry because I like working with people. I like interacting with people. I wanted to be my own boss. I was always interested in the medical field, but I didn't want to work in like emergency field or as a physician where you become attached to your patients and bad things happen to them. In dentistry, worst case scenario is you just end up having a bad day. Everybody goes home.
The most rewarding part, I love coming into the office. When I see my patients I always have a chipper face. I'm aways happy to see them. They might be happy to see me, but I'm still glad that, that they're here. I love interacting with my staff. My staff loves the patients. We all have a good time. I like to be relaxed and just do what I like to do.
I grew up in Tulsa. I went to high school in Tulsa and then went to TCC. I did my associates degrees and then I rode the bus to Stillwater every day, received by bachelor's degree, and then I got right into dental school right after that and lived in Oklahoma City for four years while I was there.
There's always new advances, so you might learn a new technique that's going to help your patients down the road. There's always new materials that come out so continuing education is very important. At least, we have to do like 60 hours every three hours, so there's always a meeting that I have to go to.
There's not one particular field that I'm drawn to. I like a lot of different aspects of dentistry, like oral surgery or endodontics, restorative with crowns and bridges. That's pretty much what we do here, and so learning a new technique in any of those skills is always helpful.
